Designed to embody India’s national bird, using the rich colors of the peacock in thunder and rain when the bird is usually happiest and the most magnificent. The sari also includes detailed patterns that are intrinsically both Indian and Indonesian motifs, used as to demonstrate cross-cultural unity. The use of the peacock also highlights the idea of a “bird of paradise” to signify the region to which it belongs.
